carries out their commitment to encouraging, promoting, and supporting ecological consciousness. The Hyatt Regency's program covers the categories of Air Quality, Energy Efficiency, Waste Minimization & Recycling, Resource Conservation, Human Health, and Education. Some examples of their

- No use of chemical pesticides
- Housekeeping uses negative ion "Ozinators" to clear odor from air
- Air ducts are maintained monthly
- The use of live potted plants and trees
- Guestroom air conditioning brings fresh air in from outside
- Fire Extinguishers are metal and refillable and contain no ozone-destroying ingredients
- Draperies contain thermal reflective liners in all guestrooms to keep rooms naturally cooler
- Central roofs have light-colored, reflective surfaces
- Caulking and weather stripping are maintained to keep cool air and heat inside
- Guestroom windows that receive direct sun light are tinted
- The use of an energy-efficient air conditioning (chiller) unit
- 97% of interior and exterior lighting is compact fluorescent bulbs
- Six bronzed skylights in the main lobby bring in natural light and eliminate the need for electricity during the day
- Motion sensors turn lights on and off in all storage areas
- Hot water holding tanks and water pipes are insulated to prevent energy loss
- Hot water temperatures are maintained between 120-130 degrees Fahrenheit
- Soft drink machines are stored inside to remain cooler
